Data Collection
DS Download Manager does not collect, transmit, or share any user data.
Data Stored Locally
The following data is stored locally in your browser only (chrome.storage):
- NAS URL, username and password (to connect to your Synology NAS)
- User preferences and settings
- Download link history (optional, disabled by default)
This data never leaves your device and is never sent to any server other than your own NAS.
Permissions Used
- storage: Store NAS credentials and preferences locally
- notifications: Notify when downloads complete or fail
- activeTab / scripting: Detect download links on the current page
- webRequest: Detect navigation to hoster/debrid sites for automatic link detection
- tabs: Get current tab URL for link detection
- contextMenus: Add right-click menu to send links
Third-Party Services
The extension communicates exclusively with the user’s own Synology NAS. No data is sent to any third-party service.
